Valerie Makunungunu

Lodge Manager, Singita Pamushana

“I am a dedicated and passionate hospitality professional with a profound love for Africa’s wildlife and wilderness. I am honoured to be part of an organisation that has made significant strides in conservation, community outreach and ecotourism.”

A born and raised Zimbabwean, Valerie joined Malilangwe’s Singita Pamushana family in 2013 as a Front-of-house Anchor. Her dedication to hospitality, and her passion for conservation and community development saw her progression to Assistant Lodge Manager in 2015 and promotion to Lodge Manager in 2019.

Valerie’s leadership style embodies Singita’s values of teamwork, empathy, and respect for people and the environment. She is devoted to crafting unforgettable experiences for guests and has a deep respect for the natural beauty of the Malilangwe Reserve. As a passionate yogi, Valerie prioritises health and wellbeing. During her Malilangwe journey, Valerie has gleaned knowledge about conservation and community outreach which she incorporates into her wholistic living style and shares her inspirations with guests and staff alike.

Valerie is proud to contribute to Singita’s 100-year purpose to conserve land and wildlife for future generations. With her hands-on leadership and dedication to creating seamless experiences, Valerie has achieved great success, leading a talented team that creates lasting memories for guests.
