Tengwe Siabwanda

Assistant Head Guide

“I like walking and birding. Walking connects me with nature. I like meeting people from all over the world and learning about their culture. I like sharing knowledge on my culture, fauna and flora with the people I meet.”

Tengwe was born in the Kariba district, and his father was a parks ranger in Matusadona National Park. Every school holiday Tengwe visited his father and loved seeing wild animals and birds and would visit the research department where he learnt a lot about wildlife. This is when he fell in love with nature. After completing his education, Tengwe decided to be a safari guide.

Tengwe started guiding in 1999 and joined Malilangwe in 2008 as a Professional Guide, and a few years later, he became Assistant Head Guide at Singita Pamushana Lodge.  Tengwe enjoys taking his guests on game drives, fishing and boat cruises, walking safaris and visiting rock art sites.  He enjoys working at Malilangwe for the beauty of the scenery and because it is the only wildlife reserve where he has worked where you can see the big five and lots of different species of plains game on a short drive.
