Tambu Chakauya

Kwali & Hakamela Camp Supervisor

“I am driven by the people whom I work with and who appreciate me, and this is what motivates me to continually raise the bar. My mantra helps me conquer my fears, it makes me stronger every day and it has taught me never to doubt myself.”

Tambu’s introduction to Malilangwe in 2000 was as a performer in an educational drama group. Four years later she joined Malilangwe’s supplies team as a Cardex clerk and was promoted to Buyer in 2007, where she excelled and was meticulous in her duties. In August 2022, Tambu decided to broaden her horizons when she accepted the role of Hakamela Camp Supervisor, where she learned to navigate different challenges and adopt new skills. Not one to be deterred she dove right in and less than a year later, she added the role of Kwali Camp Supervisor to her portfolio.
