Sonia van der Merwe

Malilangwe opened its Harare office in January 2019 as a convenient location for the Trust’s business needs and to fulfil the speciality needs for its ecotourism offering. Sonia joined Malilangwe in May 2019 as Specialist Procurement Officer based in Harare. Sonia grew up on a farm in Zimbabwe and studied a Bachelor of Science degree at Rhodes University (South Africa). Her dream of building a health retreat on their farm, steered Sonia into the hospitality industry, where she managed various safari lodges in Zimbabwe and Zambia. She then moved into the realms of Reservations and now finally Procurement. Sonia’s experience makes her a fabulous asset to the Malilangwe team.
