Emily grew up in Zimbabwe and after completion of her education at Arundel High School, she decided to study a degree in winemaking at university in Stellenbosch, after which she worked as an Assistant Winemaker at a vineyard in Cape Town. In 2007, Emily produced her own blend of wine for the vineyard.
Emily’s career steered into hospitality, with a focus on wine, when she spent a year in London. Upon her return to Zimbabwe, Emily accepted the role of Sommelier at Singita Pamushana, and she progressed to Assistant Lodge Manager and then Lodge Manager. During this time, she got married and had two children. In 2020 she took a break from her career to focus on her family but returned to Malilangwe in 2022 when she accepted the role of Tourism General Manager.
