Allan first joined The Malilangwe Trust in 2008 as a consultant under the oversight of the Research Department to carry out a leopard habituation project. He spent four years at Malilangwe working on a leopard project which contributed to further research on the habits of leopards. In 2012, he received a scholarship from Malilangwe to study and attained a BSc (Hons.) degree in Forestry Resources and Wildlife Management through National University of Science and Technology (Zimbabwe). In 2017, Allan received a second bursary from Malilangwe to pursue an MPhil in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation with Chinhoyi University of Technology (Zimbabwe), which he later upgraded to a PhD. For both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies, Allan’s research focused on understanding leopard population and behavioral ecology using camera traps and GPS collars. Upon completion of his studies, Allan was employed by Malilangwe in 2022 in the role of Junior Ecologist. He has broad interests in carnivore, terrestrial and aquatic ecology.
