Cryson Chinhondo

Radio Communications;Senior Sergeant – Malilangwe Scouts, Alpha 1

“I have always had an interest in wildlife, and I am very proud of my role as Alpha 1.”

Cryson was recruited as a Malilangwe scout in 1994 from a scouts’ selection course. Cryson was promoted to Corporal and in 2003 he was further promoted to Sergeant. Cryson was one of the scouts on rotation tasked to man the communications centre at Malilangwe’s Head Quarters, commonly known as Alpha 1. Due to his efficiency, he was awarded the full-time position of Alpha 1, which he excels at. In 2009, Cryson was promoted to Senior Sergeant. Cryson serves an administrative function for the Security department and is overall responsible as the hub for all Malilangwe’s radio traffic, including emergency communications and ground to air radio exchanges.
