Colin Wenham

General Manager of Wildlife & Estate

Colin completed his National Diploma in Nature Conservation at Cape Technikon (South Africa) and, he took on the role of Wildlife Officer as the first employee of The Malilangwe Trust in February 1994. Colin has had the privilege of working under renowned wildlife capture expert, Clem Coetsee, who pioneered the practice of the translocation of entire family groups of elephants to more suitable areas and well-known Zimbabwean wildlife veterinarian, Dr. Chris Foggin, who headed the Wildlife Veterinary Unit in Zimbabwe for many years. Over the past 25 years, Colin’s portfolio has comprised the establishment, training, and management of the anti-poaching unit, monitoring and veld management, as well as the introduction of various species of wildlife, including black and white rhino, sable, roan, Lichtenstein’s hartebeest, and several more common wildlife species. Colin is a hands-on leader with diverse practical skills, whose talents lie in understanding and managing wildlife. He has been integral in growth of The Malilangwe Trust.
